Sell Me This Pen
Many aspiring entrepreneurs hesitate when it comes to sell. This will make a large impact on whether or not they have a beginning, or if they bring their dreams to an end. When I worked on Wall Street, my employer made his staff make frequent telephone calls per day. He broadcasted the amount of phone calls you made on a big screen. Everyone could see your efforts and you could see theirs. At first, I thought this was very evasive. I was not sure if he trusted that we would put in the work, and get the customers to buy our services. This was the beginning to me being able to "sell the pen". Of course, this was statement was made in the movie, "The Wolf of Wall Street", but it is one heck of a statement to get you up and running. Practicin this phrase in the beginning, is usually the your opening into tacquiring your own. customers. I would be lying if I didn't share that you will experience all kinds of rejection from people saying they are not interested, take me off your call list, hanging up on you, etc. etc. This is a natural form of seeking out customers. As the old saying goes, "it takes forever to get a first customer, and a second to lose one". There is only one way to do this. Grow a thick skin and sell that pen! jGet in the mirror, and sell it to yourself. Practice on friends and family. Create your script. Learn your script. Put it to the test each day. Put your heart into it, and keep moving on. Each day will bring you closer to your first customer. Remember to, "Sell that Pen"!
